Plan Types

Meter	Meter Type	Description
Primary	Anytime / Uncontrolled	This meter type provides 100% uninterrupted power to your business and all appliances. This meter is billed at a single unit rate.
Primary	All Inclusive / Economy / Composite	This meter type provides uninterrupted power to your business, but will have the ability to control secondary appliances such as heaters or water heaters for 3-4 hours per day during times of peak load. This meter is also billed at a single unit rate and is typically lower than that of an uncontrolled primary meter due to the minor disruption to supply.
Primary Secondary	Anytime / Uncontrolled Controlled	This 2 meter plan provides uninterrupted power to your business via a primary meter, and supplies controlled power to your secondary appliances through a second meter. The level of control on the secondary meter depends on your network, but is typically only controlled for 2-6 hours per day. These meters are billed at different rates, with the controlled meter offering a cheaper tariff due to the restricted supply.
Primary Secondary	Anytime / Uncontrolled Night	This 2 meter plan provides uninterrupted power to your business via a primary meter, and supplies controlled power to your secondary appliances through a second meter during the "night" hours of 11.00pm - 7.00am only. These meters are billed at different rates, with the night meter offering a cheaper tariff due to the restricted supply.
Primary	Day / Night	This dual-register, primary meter plan delivers uninterrupted power to your business at 2 different (per kWh) rates dependant on the time of day you use the power. The Day rate is charged on usage between 7am and 11pm and the (cheaper) Night rate between 11pm and 7am.
Primary	Triple-Saver	This triple-register, primary meter delivers uninterupted power to your business at 3 different (per kWh) rates dependant on the time of day you use the power. The 3 times are Peak, Off-peak and Night. NB - This meter is only available in the Electra (Levin/Kapiti) network and may not be supported by all retailers.
Primary	Time Of Use (TOU) / Half-Hourly	TOU metering is typically reserved for larger, commercial business sites where the usage and/or size of supply is so great that a commercial meter is required. Businesses pay a different tariff for every half-hour period during the day or the "time-of-use" of the power. Switchme does not offer a comparison service for TOU-metered sites as the method of comparison can be complex and time consuming.
