Who owns Energy Online?

Energy Online is owned by Genesis Energy, who are a State-owned enterprise. They are overseen by a board of directors who report directly to the government. Their contact centre is based in Hamilton

Where is their head office?

The Energy Online head office is in Greenlane, Auckland.

How often will my meters be read?

Energy online use a smart meter that will provide a monthly read. For sites not fitted with a smart meter, Energy Online will have a meter reader manually read the meter every month. You may be asked to provide specific access details to assist the reader in gaining this read.

My current retailer installed a smart meter and can read it remotely. Will my new retailer be able to read this meter remotely also?

Your new retailer may not necessarily be able to read your current Smart meter. Some retailers have the technology to remotely read other retailer's meters, but this is not always the case. If you find your meter is incompatible with your new chosen retailer they will continue to send a meter reader to manually read it.

Do Energy Online have bonds for business customers?

No, Energy Online do not have bonds

Can I access my account online?

Yes, by using Energy Online's "My Account" online portal. This allows users to receive online bills and review your account and transaction history.

What payment methods are offered by Energy Online?
