Who owns Mercury Energy?

Mercury Energy are a division of Mighty River Power, a state-owned enterprise. They are overseen by a board of directors who report directly to the government.

Where is their head office?

Mercury Energy's head office is located in Greenlane, Auckland.

How often will my meters be read?

Mercury Energy use a smart meter that will provide a monthly read. For sites not fitted with a smart meter, Mercury Energy will typically have a meter reader manually read the meter, and will endevour to do this every month where access allows. You may be asked to provide specific access details to assist the reader in gaining this read.

My current retailer installed a smart meter and can read it remotely. Will my new retailer be able to read this meter remotely also?

Your new retailer may not necessarily be able to read your current Smart meter. Some retailers have the technology to remotely read other retailer’s meters, but this is not always the case. If you find your meter is incompatible with your new chosen retailer they will continue to send a meter reader to manually read it.

Can I access my account online?

Yes, via Mercury's "Energy Manager" online portal. This can be used to track pricing, access your transaction history, receive alerts and graph reports on your spend and usage.

Can I pay my bill on the same date each month?

Yes, With Mercury Energy you can specify which date you wish to pay your invoice to suit your accounts.

Can I have all my accounts on the same invoice?

Yes, whether your company has 2 or 2,000 sites, you can opt to receive your accounts all on one bill.

RD1 account holders qualify for additional discount with Mercury Energy. This affiliation offers an additional 2% prompt payment discount on top of the standard 10%. Mercury will also read your meter every month to ensure you always get an accurate bill. Further to this, your Mercury invoice will be loaded against your monthly RD1 statement, meaning one less bill to pay.

PGG Wrightson

PGG Wrightson account holders qualify for additional discount with Mercury Energy. This affiliation offers an additional 2% prompt payment discount on top of the standard 10%. Mercury will also read your meter every month to ensure you always get an accurate bill. Further to this, your Mercury invoice will be loaded against your monthly PGG Wrightson statement, meaning one less bill to pay.
