The Switchme team has tried all they can to include Trust Power on this site.
Unfortunately Trust Power refuse to reply to any emails or phone calls. We can only assume their power prices and customer service doesn’t stack up against New Zealand’s other retailers.
A recent Bay of Plenty Times newspaper article quotes new Trustpower CEO Vince Hawkesworth as saying:
"If you are talking purely on price, then in some areas we would be the most expensive, and in other areas we aren't. What customers have to consider ... is whether the difference in price being offered elsewhere is worth the problem of switching."
"What customers are told about the size of the [price] gap is somewhat different to reality. They find out it could be $50 a year. Their response is: 'I thought it was more than that; it's not worth it [switching].'"
Our investigation indicate that the potential savings is much much more than $50 per year. In some cases we see potential savings of over $100 per month!
At Switchme, we believe that it is imperative that customers continue to look for the best deals.
